This brunch pop up was a lovely surprise tucked away under the arches in hackney downs which if I am honest took us a wee bit of time to find.
When we turned up I had to question whether we were in the right place as they seemed to be hosting a children’s birthday party. Luckily this did not detract from the busy yet relaxed pop up vibe. On arrival we were greeted with a cherry waiter and given homemade soda drink samples to try before committing to a flavour- rhubarb or citrus- our table was split.
We pondered over the delightful menu while sipping away on their deliciously large filter coffees and argued over the best option. There were plenty of mouth-watering options, in the end we decided to share because it all sounded so scrumptious. The savoury pancakes with truffle mushrooms were a flavour sensation and the slow cooked egg with ricotta was a winner. The portions weren’t big but they had flare and I was full by the time I had finished.
If you are looking for a pancake fix then this will suit you as there are sweet and savoury options at your fingertips all of which weren’t too heavy in sugar or fat. I hope this pop up is here to stay, it’s definitely worth a look if you are in the neighbourhood. It has options for any kind of brunch goer, carnivore, pancake lover or vegetarian
