OVERALL

There was a big bunch of us meeting for brunch today and Cream was just the spot as there were tables a plenty. After sitting down and reading the menu we realised why there were free tables at 12 on a Saturday in Shoreditch.

The menu was limited with the majority going for the salmon tartar, unfortunately when asked to add eggs we were denied.

When the food did come out it looked pretty but the food was mediocre. I chose mango, yoghurt and almonds. It was light, fresh and definitely healthy. The biggest issue with this seemingly healthy option is that it can and did turn to disaster later in the day.

If you hadn’t noticed already one of my food philosophies is balance.  If you don’t have loads of vegetables, a serving of protein and a portion of whole grain carbohydrate on you end up feeling hungry quickly. This hunger more often than not turns into cravings which ends in grabbing food to satisfy. I can safely say this happened to me.  At 3pm while wandering Brick Lane I found myself munching down on the famous salmon and cream cheese bagel. Amazing as it was if I had a larger more balanced brunch this would never have happened.

Cream did have fresh juice on offer which is in keeping with health food trends. I personally and professional don’t buy into the fresh juice fad. You get more bang for buck from whole fruit nutritionally not to mention whole fruit is far more filling.

In saying that I did end up  ordering a ginger shot which had to be the highlight of the experience but I am sure you can get a ginger shot anywhere.

Overall cream was too simple, too small and I won’t be going back if I am actually hungry.
