Beagle

We booked in advance for the Beagle following a raving review in London’s Timeout Magazine. It turned out it wasn’t as busy as expected but it was nice to be welcomed and seated without having to wait.

Brunch was met with a few very hungry bellies after a long run and yoga work out plus highly awaited anticipation. However the menu items were pretty standard, nothing really stood out to anyone.

The service was the best we have had yet, we even had a good old friendly chat to the manager. He did make the mistake of disclosing his dislike in serving brunch, stating it’s not the revenue maker he is after. He proceeded to start us on the early morning cocktails which all ten of us politely declined knowing all too well his intent to upsell.

I shared the spinach salad plus a poached egg as a side, (note: without the eggs it would have been a huge disappointment). I also shared the classic British Indian fusion-Kedgeree, this was delicious, spicy and hit the spot.

All and all The Beagle was a nice brunch spot providing a combination of healthy options versus brunch stock standards but in my opionin I prefer brunch spots with a little more imagination.
